Quote from documents

Attach a dec page, a pasted email, or a call recording to the quote you're starting, and let the details come across instead of typing them in a second time.

Find it

Start a new quote and look at the first screen. Below the client details there's a block headed Documents & Notes.

If you don't see it, document reading isn't switched on for your agency — contact your account manager to have it enabled.

Attach documents

Drop files onto the upload area, or activate it to browse. Accepted document types are PDF, JPG and PNG — dec pages, ID cards and prior policies all work well.

You can attach up to 5 files in one go. That limit counts everything you attach, audio included, so four documents and a voice memo is a full submission.

Documents share a combined budget of 23 MB. Audio doesn't count against that budget — see below.

Attach an audio recording

Upload a voice memo or a call recording, up to 25 MB for the file. There's no recording inside the browser: record it on your phone or your phone system, then upload the file like any other attachment.

We transcribe the audio first, then read the transcript the same way we'd read a document. Remember that the recording still uses one of your five attachments.

Write or paste notes

Below the upload area there's a notes box. Write or paste an email, a call summary, or the notes you took while you were on the phone. Text is capped at 50,000 characters.

Notes don't count against the 5-file limit, and you can send notes on their own without attaching anything.

Start the quote

Press Start Quote. While your files are being read the button reads Reading your documents….

Reading and creating the intake happen in one step — there's no separate draft screen to approve first. You land in the normal quote flow with whatever could be read already filled in: household members, vehicles, current insurance, home details.

The insured, the address and the lines of business come from what you entered on the first screen of a new quote, not from the documents. Those are never guessed at.

Check what came across

Every field remains editable, so work through the steps as you normally would and correct anything that didn't come across the way you expected. This is a head start on data entry, not a substitute for reading the quote before you send it.

If a document can't be read

You'll see a short message — We couldn't read your files — Continuing with standard lookup — and the quote carries on as a normal quote. Nothing is lost and nothing stalls; you fill in the details yourself, or from our standard data lookup, exactly as you would have before.
