Claude and ChatGPT

Connect Claude or ChatGPT to Quotamation to ask about your clients and quotes. With an AI plan and Quotamation permissions that allow actions, you can also start an intake or request carrier quotes. Each person connects with their own Quotamation sign-in, and an agency admin sets the most any AI app may do.

Before you start

An agency admin turns on AI Access once for the agency:

1. Click Settings in the left menu
2. Under Agency Settings, open AI Access
3. Choose what AI apps may do, then click Turn On AI Access

AI Access needs API access on your Quotamation plan. If the page says API access is not turned on, contact support. The first time an admin turns it on, Quotamation asks them to accept the API Addendum.

The agency's limit is a ceiling. Each person chooses what their own connection may do when they sign in, within that limit. Prefills and carrier quote requests use your plan's allowance and require permission to use it. Your Usage Limits still apply.

Connecting an AI app lets it receive client information. Review your AI provider's data settings and your agency's policy before connecting.

AI app plan requirements

• Claude: Custom connectors are available on Free, Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise. Free allows one custom connector. On Team, an owner adds Quotamation for the organization. On Enterprise, an owner or member with Manage access to Libraries can add it.
• ChatGPT: On the web, Pro can connect a custom MCP server for reading and fetching data only. Business and Enterprise/Edu support actions such as creating intakes and requesting quotes, subject to workspace permissions. Business admins or owners create the connection; Enterprise/Edu admins or owners can also authorize developers to create it. Only admins or owners can publish it for a workspace.

These requirements can change. Check Claude's custom connector guide and ChatGPT's custom MCP guide if your menus or plan differ. These steps were checked on October 16, 2026.

Connect Claude

You'll paste this server URL:

If you use Claude Team or Enterprise, ask an owner or authorized Enterprise manager to add Quotamation under Organization settings → Connectors → Add → Custom → Web using the URL above. Once it appears in your Connectors list, click Connect and continue at step 4 below.

1. In Claude, open Customize → Connectors. Click + Add, then Add custom connector
2. Name it Quotamation and paste the server URL. Continue through the detected authentication settings, keeping Sign in now and Use Claude's published identity
3. Click Add. Find Quotamation in the connector list and click Connect
4. Sign in to Quotamation. If you belong to more than one agency, choose the agency for this connection
5. Choose what Claude may do, then approve the connection
6. In a Claude chat, enable Quotamation under + → Connectors if needed. Try asking: "Show me my recent quotes."

Claude may ask you to approve individual tool uses in the chat.

Connect ChatGPT

Use ChatGPT on the web. If your workspace does not let you add a custom MCP server, ask its admin to create and publish the connection for your team.

1. Open Plugins, click +, then choose Add custom MCP server
2. Name it Quotamation. Under Connection, keep Server URL and paste the server URL above
3. Under Authentication, keep OAuth and leave the detected OAuth settings as they are
4. Check I understand and want to continue, then click Create as a plugin
5. In the Connect Quotamation prompt, click Continue to Quotamation. Sign in, choose your agency if asked, choose what ChatGPT may do, and approve the connection
6. Click Try in chat, or start a chat and select Quotamation with @. Try asking: "Show me my recent quotes."

On ChatGPT Pro, choose View Only in Quotamation: Pro cannot use the actions for editing intakes, prefilling client details, or requesting carrier quotes. On Business or Enterprise/Edu, those actions also depend on the permissions your agency and ChatGPT workspace allow.

You can also find the server URL under Settings → Connect an AI App in Quotamation.

Connected with a client ID?

If you added Quotamation to Claude using a client ID your agency was given, reconnect using the URL-only steps above. Check your agency's migration notice for the old connection's deadline.

1. In Claude's Connectors, remove the old Quotamation connector
2. Add it again by following Connect Claude, using the server URL and the detected authentication settings

Your intakes, clients, and quotes stay in Quotamation. Only the connection changes.

Disconnect

To end your own connection, disconnect Quotamation in the AI app's connector or plugin settings.

Agency admins can see connections under Settings → AI Access. Click Disconnect beside a person to end their connection. To change what AI apps may do, click Change Limit. Lowering the limit removes those permissions from connected apps right away. Turn Off AI Access ends every connection and stops anyone from reconnecting until an admin turns it on again.
